The research activity of Paola Russo is focused on the study of the interaction between dietary habits and genetic and biochemical factors involved in multifactorial diseases in large population samples, and on the improvement of human health through nutritional strategies. The research area primarily involves the investigation of genetic, biochemical, inflammatory and dietary factors, using epidemiology approaches, in the cause and prevention of cardiovascular disease, and of adult and childhood obesity. Her activity is mainly focused on the evaluation of gene-environment interaction in multi-factorial diseases, in particular cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, childhood and adult obesity, in large samples of children and adult European and multi-ethnic populations, in the frame of European projects (IDEFICS and I.Family).<\/p>\n
