Since 2010, the research activity has been directed to the history of the rural landscape and the agricultural landscape, and therefore to the landscape intended both as an expression of the structure of crops on the ground, and as a result of all those material signs (housing forms, roads, borders, settlement structures) but also intangible ones that arise from the agricultural world.
\nThe observatory for these studies is Irpinia, a land where for centuries the main activity was agriculture and which today – as a consequence of the profound crisis that has hit all production sectors and especially that industrial sector in recent years on which investments had focused following the 1980 earthquake – he places his hopes for recovery in it. Therefore, with a view to combining past and present, study projects have been carried out concerning historical rural architecture and in particular the architecture of wine, the reading of the landscape through literature or history, statistical and geographical surveys on the sector. agriculture and food, landscape and tourism in the first half of the twentieth century, landscape and post-earthquake reconstruction (1930 – 1980), historical analyzes on rural villages, historical analyzes on gastronomic cartography.<\/p>\n
